1. Travel to Europe
2. Get married in the Temple to someone that truly loves me
3. Have a baby and finally start the family I always wanted
4. Master an instrument
5. Finish my degree
Not necessarily in that order but those were my top 5 things I wanted to do. BOOM! 3 of those are done. I married the most wonderful man in the world.
Right before I got married I started taking piano lessons. I even bought a used piano off of Craigslist but then a third goal happened, I had a baby. I just didn't have the energy to keep up with lessons and the money so I am taking a back seat for awhile on my goal of mastering an instrument. If I don't then I at least want my son to.
Here is a picture of my sweet little boy. He has proven to be the most worthwhile achievement out of all these goals.
I am so close to being finished with my degree if I could just pass math. I have struggled with that this whole time. Hopefully within the year I can finish and cross that goal off on my list.
The last goal on my list of things I wanted to do was to travel, specifically to Europe. So I went. I signed up on a tour to Europe that was 4 weeks long. Very much worth it and I am so glad I did it before I got married and had children. Because now that I am in the swing of having a family there really isn't much time for stopping the flow of things to travel back there, or the funds for that matter. I am going to have a whole 2nd post with pictures and descriptions of the places I went but this is a little teaser of what is to come!
This blog post was mostly to remind myself how far I have come in so little time and what I should be thankful for. Recently we moved out of our little apartment and into my parents house. The 3 of us (my husband, Son and I) are sharing one small bedroom. We moved out because of a really bad neighbor and I am glad we made the decision to move her. We feel much safer, happier and I don't feel as depressed. But I want my husband to know that I am grateful we listen to the promptings of our Heavenly Father and that this was the right decision for us. I know that He has wonderful things in store for our family this year. This post is kind of random but it is 1:40 am and I was feeling bad about our situation and now I am 100 times more grateful than ever to have what we do. Especially because tonight while I was out with my husband we came out of a restaurant and saw that a dentist named Dr. Taylor had his house engulfed in flames and a near by neighbors house burned down as well. Not sure what happened but it was a horrible fire. No one was killed luckily but how said is that? I feel so blessed to go to bed tonight in my warm sheets curled up next to my husband and baby. Life is so good. Good Night
